My Favourite Drugstore Bases

L'Oreal True Match: A lightweight but very high coverage base that is very everyday appropriate. My summer colour is C3 but I'm looking around online to find a bottle of C1 so I can wear it year round. This is probably my all time favourite foundation as it's so pigmented, matches my skin perfectly but lets my freckles shine through.

Covergirl Tru Blend: A very traditional foundation that looks great when massaged into the skin with fingers. It's quite light coverage and is one of the lightest foundation shades I own so it's great for making other foundations lighter for winter.

Rimmel Stay Matte: This is what I reach for when my skin is looking oily and I have a little more time in the morning. I apply this with a buffing brush and then go over it with a damp beauty blender. Once it sets, it stays all day and doesn't require a powder.

Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum: This is my go-to 'I have no idea what kind of base I want' foundation. It's very light, smells amazing, has a light-medium coverage, matches my skin for most of the year, doesn't disappear or get oily throughout the day and is a perfect everyday foundation for those who don't require a lot of coverage.

Rimmel Match Perfection: This is a very basic foundation. It comes in a wide range of shades, has a skin like finish with medium coverage, doesn't disappear throughout the day or get particularly oily and would suit the needs of a lot of people.

Chi Chi Super BB Cream: This is my base of choice now that the weather is getting warmer. It leans very yellow and definitely needs powdering but feels very moisturising and blends beautifully. The pump packaging is very handy too.

L'Oreal Lumi Magique: I've got this in two shades which I tend to mix throughout the year as I just can't be without it. It's so glowy and pairs very well with a bit of bronzer and mascara for a laid back look. I tend to powder my T-Zone and under my eyes but leave my cheeks looking beautifully sheeny.

Bourjois CC Cream: Another highly pigmented but lightweight base. It covers redness better than any base I've ever found and pairs beautifully with my Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders. It just seems to look better throughout the day. This maybe isn't one for oily skinned gals as it feels quite oily and slippy on the skin but works great on normal leaning dry skin.
