Shopping My Stash

Having a large makeup stash means that a lot of products often get neglected in favour of my everyday staples and new products I want to try. I try my best to rotate products in and out of my everyday stash but I find I always go back to the same products (more on those soon) and only rarely try new things if I'm feeling adventurous. I tend to stick to safe neutrals so you'll never see Urban Decay's Electric Palette in my stash but I don't mind a bright cheek or lip.

I was getting stuck in a rut with my makeup and decided to shop my stash in hope of finding some barely used products. This is what I found:

L'Oreal Nude Magique Eau De Teint Foundation:
I picked this up on a whim during a sale, used it a few times and put it back in my drawers. I found it a bit of a faff to apply and found it wasn't practical to apply in the few spare minutes I have before school each morning. However, when I do have an extra few minutes to apply my makeup I find that using this foundation and a beauty blender works really nicely. It has a light/medium coverage and feels really light on the skin, which will be really nice for the warmer months.

ELF HD Blush in Superstar*:
I received this in a recent package from ELF and was immediately intrigued. This looks like a dupe for the Estee Lauder Cello Shots but far, far more pigmented. I had seen a few reviews around and was interested in it but found that it was also a bit of a toughie to apply and required a bit more attention and precision. I pump a tiny amount out on to the back of my hand and use a damp sponge to apply.

Urban Decay Naked 2:
I love my Naked 2 quite a bit but I just found I was reaching for other palettes as I was struggling to find shadow combinations from the palette that suited my skintone. I eventually moved over to my Sleek palettes but I'm glad I'm back using this. I find I get the most use out of Half Baked and Tease.

Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Pomegranate Punk:
I love the colour range of these cream shadows but struggle with the formula. It's definitely harder to blend and is a little clumpier than most of my favourites but the shade Pomegranate Punk is just gorgeous. A deep plum/burgundy with golden shimmer really warms up a wintery face and I'll definitely be pulling this out on our last few chilly days before the sun comes out for good.

L'Oreal Eyeshadow in Sepia Sparkle:
I used this in one of my first ever tutorials (luckily I've hidden it now, it's pretty cringeworthy) and when I was watching the footage back I noticed just how pretty the shade is and wondered why I stopped using it. I think it's mostly because I see it as a warm, summery shade and have yet to find a way to wear it in the colder months.

Face Of Australia HD Liquid Eyeliner:
I moved on from this liner because I found my holy grail (L'Oreal Super Liner Perfect Slim) and saw no real use for it as it just wasn't as good as my favourite. I'm glad I've come back to it though as it's quite similar to L'oreal's offering, the main difference being the finish. L'Oreal's looks beautifully matte whereas this looks a little shiny and smudges a little more but it's more forgiving than Perfect Slim and less liquidy.
