Face Of Australia Glossy Lip Crayon

The newest drop from Face Of Australia comes in the form of a new line of glossy Clinique-esque chubby lip crayons. It's not a particularly new concept, Revlon and Bourjois have also tried their hands and succeeded. How do these measure up with the big guns?

The two colours I tried, Apple Crumble (a warm red with a hint of orange) and Peach Parfait (a sheer peachy pink) are both cute colours and are the best offerings out of the range. The three original shades (Macaroon, Cupcake &  Sundae) didn't excite me all too much but the extended range now has a colour to suit everyone. The formula is quite sheer and light but extremely creamy which makes them very moisturising. This unfortunately impacts the wear time which is quite short, about an hour or two but they leave a pretty stain behind.

They haven't made it into daily rotation yet but I'm sure come the heat of a midsummer day I will be reaching for these. I think the names are absolutely adorable as well, they are all dessert themed! I did notice that the clear lid is prone to cracking so watch out if you intend to chuck this in your handbag, it might not survive the day. For $4.95 I guess you get what you pay for.

The other colours in the line up are:
Berry Brulee: A deep plum toned berry
Jam Fancy: Neon Barbie pink
Pecan Pie: Light brown toned nude
Pie A La Mode: Medium mature brown
Raspberry Coulis: Bright fuchsia

All in all? Eh. I'm not really fussed either way. I like the colours I own but won't be rushing out to get any others. They'd be a nice stocking stuffer for younger girls just getting into makeup but personally I prefer the Revlon or Clinique offerings.
