Estee Lauder Illuminating Powder Gelee in Tease

Oh man. It was just a matter of time wasn't it? Strolling through Myers one fateful afternoon a certain little gem caught my eye and in an instant it was packaged up and heading home with me. The limited edition Illuminating Powder Gelee from Estee Lauder.

I have been keeping this purchase under wraps for quite a while as a) I wanted to photograph it in all it's unused glory on a high resolution camera and b) I wanted to wear it to my birthday party. Well now it's here.
This is a gorgeous baby pink blush & highlight hybrid. To apply it I use my Real Techniques Multi-Task brush or a MAC 109. It is gorgeous worn as a blush day to day or as a highlighter if you want a little more of an all over glow on a night out. The consistency is said to be a mix of a powder and a gel and I completely agree. It has almost a wet look when freshly applied and the consistency is silky soft. This is generally expected of the Estee Lauder Gelee Powders but I was really pleasantly surprised.
I really love the way it reflects the light and makes my whole face glow when I wear it. I love pairing it with my L'Oreal Infallible foundation, Hourglass Ambient Lighting powder and The Body Shop bronzer for a beautiful natural glow.
My only gripe is the price point, $40 in the US sure, but a whoppingly steep $75 in Australia? C'mon Lauder, what's that about?
Is it worth the cash? Well you get quite a bit in the pan and i'm not going to be running out any time soon but I wish it was a little cheaper.
